Heart Rate

Track effort and intensity throughout your activity.

Heart rate graph overlay

Heart rate data is imported from FIT and GPX files recorded by devices such as Garmin, Wahoo, Polar, Apple Watch, and other sensors that embed HR fields. FIT files typically include raw per-sample heart rate values, while GPX files may include heart-rate extensions when exported from platforms that support them.

The overlay can display instantaneous heart rate, average heart rate, and max heart rate when these fields are available. Zone visualization is supported using either custom user-defined zones or device-recorded training zones. The overlay can highlight zone changes or color the graph according to the active intensity level.

When reviewing a heart rate overlay in the final video, sustained rises often correspond to climbs or high-effort intervals, while drops may indicate descents, rest periods, or coasting. Overlaying HR with power, cadence, or elevation widgets can help identify whether intensity changes are driven by terrain, pacing, or fatigue.
