Map Overlay
Visualize your route on top of your video.
The Map Overlay renders your recorded route as a compact visual map positioned on top of the video. It reads GPS coordinates, timestamps, and optional elevation data from your FIT or GPX file, then plots the route according to the selected map style. Available styles typically include clean monochrome, dark mode, and high-contrast outlines suited for small on-screen displays.
Configuration options include enabling live following of the current position, displaying start and finish markers, and applying color gradients based on speed, elevation, or custom metrics. You can adjust line thickness, corner radius, and the size of the map frame to match your video’s composition.
For long or high-resolution activities, route simplification may be applied automatically to maintain rendering performance without altering visible path accuracy. If your source file contains extremely dense GPS sampling, pre-processing the track—such as downsampling or smoothing—can reduce load times while keeping the overlay responsive.
